Ann Marie: In 2010, my personal and professional life took a drastic shift. My marriage ended, and I decided to walk away from the real estate and mortgage company we had built together. Starting over meant leaving behind the leads, the systems, and the business structure. I had experience but needed to completely rebuild my business from the foundation up. It was like going back to day one.

Rebuilding took everything I had. I had to learn how to be the face of the business, not just the engine behind the scenes. I was used to being the one making sure everything ran smoothly, handling compliance, managing paperwork, and supporting clients, but now I had to prospect, pitch, negotiate, and lead. And I had to do it while raising two kids, determined to be fully present for them. Thankfully, real estate gave me the flexibility to be involved in all of their activities, never missing a game or event.
It was during that transitional time that I discovered long-distance running. My first marathon was in 2013, and what started as a challenge turned into a passion. I’ve completed four 100-mile races. That mental toughness, that ability to push through when it gets hard, matched the exact mindset I needed to keep building in real estate. Both required endurance, discipline, and the belief that showing up everyday matters.

In 2021, Angel and I launched Selling LA Luxury. We connected over shared values, a strong work ethic, and a drive to constantly raise the bar. What we’ve built reflects that—a hands-on, detail-driven business where clients get more than just real estate support. They get trusted partners who communicate clearly, show up fully, and never cut corners. That level of care is what sets us apart.
I’m proud of the challenges I’ve overcome and grateful to live a life centered around helping others, being present for my family, and making time for the things I love.
Angel: Moving to Los Angeles in 2015 was a chance to build a life and embrace opportunities I knew I’d never find back home. It was a long road to reach that point. My childhood was filled with instability—abuse, addiction, and being placed in the foster care system at 11. I craved safety, structure, and the feeling of having a true home. I joined the Army young and served for eight years, rising to sergeant as a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear specialist. The discipline, leadership, and grit I gained there shaped me and gave me strength.

While in the military I worked in the medical field before earning my business degree at Pepperdine. I was drawn to roles where I could help people, but something still felt incomplete. Real estate kept coming up in conversations—with people I respected, with those who had built real wealth—and the more I explored it, the more I saw it as a way to create stability, not just for myself, but for others too. I started working for a top broker on the West Side, and that experience showed me that real estate is so much more than sales. It’s a path to ownership, financial freedom, and opportunity.
Today, I’m a full-time agent, investor, landlord, and mom of four young boys. My two oldest already help with open houses and videos, and they’re starting to learn the basics of business. They’re growing up with a front-row seat to what hard work can create and what it means to build a legacy.

Starting Selling LA Luxury with Ann Marie was another step in that mission. Whether it’s helping a family find the right home or guiding someone through their first investment, we get to make a lasting impact in their lives and that’s what drives us.
